Sweets refers to a food whose main composition is sugar or, powdered sugar or artificial sugars, and the definition is so broad that it includes chocolates. 

In most sweets, flour and eggs are other main ingredient besides the sweetener.

In Iran, sweets are primarily used in happy ceremonies and are taken to congratulate each other. 

It is customary to take sweets for each other in reconciliation ceremonies, when visiting a newborn child, a new house, etc.

Apart from the authentic old Iranian sweets such as Gaz and Sohan, sweets in Iranian sweet shops are divided into two main categories: dry and wet. 

Dry sweets are sweets that are not made with cream and can be stored for a long time. 

Among the most famous sweets, we can mention tongue, raisin, Danish, and jam sweets. 

Wet sweets are sweets that are made with cream and must be kept in the refrigerator for storage.
